Olive resigns as GWA general manager

The Guam Waterworks Authority yesterday announced General Manager Leonard Olive resigned, effective at the end of business yesterday, and will be ‘pursuing other opportunities.’

Sen. Tina Muna Barnes has sent a letter to Guam Waterworks Authority informing GWA General Manager Leonard Olive that his agency hasn’t been in compliance with the Public Utilities Commission and the Guam Telecommunications Act of 2004.

As contractors scrambled to beat deadline

Although Guam Waterworks Authority officials previously expected revenues of up to $5 million as a result of the implementation of the agency’s system development charge, actual revenue may be significantly less due to a decrease in the number of new permit applications.

GWA general manager Leonard Olive, who was the guest speaker at yesterday’s Rotary Club of Northern Guam meeting, said that since the charge took effect earlier this month, GWA has only successfully received an estimated $2,000 in system development charge from a single-family dwelling.

Port manager turns in resignation

PORT Authority of Guam general manager Glenn Leon Guerrero submitted his official letter of resignation to Gov. Felix P. Camacho yesterday. He made no mention of future plans in the letter.
